Keep a family calendar in a prominent place to track everyone’s activities and to avoid overbooking.
Let kids figure out their own problems. Be helpful and supportive, but let them solve their difficulties.
Help your kids to cope well when bad things happen. Teach them how to be resilient.
Give your child your undivided attention whenever you can.
Do things with children, not just for them. Play with them. Talk with them.
React calmly and matter-of-factly when kids have meltdowns. Give them time to gain their composure. Then find out what upset them.
Introduce your kids to magazines that interest them. Check them out of the library. If they get excited about one, consider subscribing to it in their names.
Thank your kids when you see them making good choices and when they help out.
