30 Second Spotlight

Think of any family topic (hobbies, sports, holidays, family traditions, family memories, etc.) and give each person 30 seconds of uninterrupted time to talk about the topic.

Do You Know Your Neighbor?

Neighbors can be great, but close relationships with neighbors don’t happen overnight. Take a walk in the neighborhood and introduce yourselves to your neighbors.

Goal! Relay Race

Have a family relay race! It might be running, crab-walking, hopping, or somersaulting – you choose. Set a time goal for your team, and race against the clock. Can you improve your time?

Family Memory Game

Create your own Memory game (the game where you flip over cards, two at a time, to find matching pictures) using pictures and captions of family stories.

Object Riddles

In a grocery store line or at a restaurant, think of an object in the area (preferably within sight) that you could describe in riddles. Give clues and let everyone else try to guess the answer.

Neat and Nifty Names

Talk together about your names and nicknames. Ask each other the following questions: What is the story behind your name? Does your name have a special meaning? How was it chosen?

Family A-B-C Game

Going from youngest to oldest, think of a positive description for each family member. Here’s the catch: The words must start with the correct letter of the alphabet.
