ParentFurther: A Thoughtful Blog for Busy Parents

Do you ever wonder why your kids act the way they do?

Do you ever get stumped about how to respond when your child does something you didn’t expect?

You’re not alone.

Parenting is full of joy—and full of unexpected surprises that may baffle you.

Jolene Roehlkepartain, a parent and the author of many parenting books including Raising Healthy Children Day by Day and Parenting Preschoolers with a Purpose, is following the latest research, news, and trends about parenting well today. She is writing the ParentFurther blog and will encourage you to think further about parenting your kids in the best possible way.

Check back at the end of April, when we’ll begin posting frequent articles and discussion questions to help you think further about the joys and challenges of parenting.

There is never a course on how to be great parents and it’s all just a learning process. You only learn how to become a parent once you become an actual parent. It’s even tougher to have to work far from your kids and spend most of your time in the office than at home. As a parent of three, it’s really tough. But to bridge the lack of communication, i’ve tried hiring childcare professionals (found this link helpful – http://www.footsteps.co.nz/home_based_childcare_porirua) and somehow, although not 100 percent, things got a lot better. This is a great site and can’t wait to see it bloom and help a lot of busy parents out there. Regards!
